Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Recovery Mentor - Certified Recovery Peer Advocate to join our team. The successful candidate will assist individuals in recovery, providing guidance, support, and resources to help them sustain their recovery and improve their overall health.

Salary and Benefits

$18.75 - $20.83 per hour, plus comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Individuals: Work closely with clients to develop personalized recovery plans, tailored to their unique needs and goals.
  • Link Clients to Resources: Connect individuals with social services, support groups, and community resources, helping them build a strong support network.
  • Coping Skills and Wellness: Teach coping skills, stress management techniques, and wellness strategies to promote overall well-being.
  • Benefits Support: Assist clients with benefit applications, ensuring they receive the support they need to maintain stability.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide non-clinical crisis support, offering emotional support and guidance during challenging times.
  • Community Engagement: Engage clients in formal recovery support services, promoting healthy relationships and a sense of community.
  • Education and Empowerment: Educate clients and family members on various modes of recovery, promoting self-advocacy and empowerment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.
  • OMH Certification: Obtain certification as a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) within six months of hire and maintain throughout employment.
  • Experience in Healthcare: One year of experience in health or human services preferred.
  • Empathy and Compassion: Must be able to demonstrate empathy and compassion, understanding the challenges faced by individuals in recovery.
  • NYS Driver's License: Valid New York State driver's license required.
