Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR). As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will be responsible for providing clinical assessments and treatment to offenders and justice-challenged individuals. If you have a passion for helping others and a strong background in counseling, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver substance abuse education classes and group therapy sessions
  • Conduct one-on-one clinical assessments and counseling sessions
  • Maintain accurate clinical records
  • Participate in clinical staffing meetings and develop individual treatment plans
  • Coordinate transitional pre-release planning with case managers and maintain statistical data
  • Interact with community resource providers and security staff
  • Travel and drive on state business as needed
Requirements:
  • Licensed in the State of Arizona as a Licensed Associate Substance Abuse Counselor (LASAC), Licensed Independent Substance Counselor (LISAC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or as a Psychologist
  • Ability to work in a secured correctional environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and statistical data
