Job Title: Diagnostic Sonographer

Northwell Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will play a critical role in assisting cardiologists in performing phased array Echocardiography and other procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients and equipment for procedures
  • Review Echocardiogram requisitions as ordered by cardiologists
  • Notify nursing units of scheduled patient exams and coordinate patient transport
  • Position patients on examination tables for optimal testing procedures
  • Explain procedures to patients in a clear and concise manner
  • Operate equipment to obtain desired results
  • Monitor patient conditions and report abnormalities to radiologists
  • Perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment
  • Document equipment efficiency for quality control
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems and report major issues to management
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and physics
  • Familiarity with medical and surgical diseases
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved ultrasound training program
  • Current New York State certification as a Diagnostic Sonographer (preferred)
  • Registry eligibility by the National Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
