Job Description

CruiTek, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Cellular Network Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for conducting on-site assessments to validate cellular coverage in hospitals and clinics using advanced survey equipment and software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • On-Site Cellular Coverage Assessment:
    • Conduct comprehensive cellular signal strength and quality assessments using state-of-the-art survey devices and software.
    • Map out the physical environment within hospitals and clinics, identifying coverage gaps, dead zones, and potential interference sources.
    • Perform in-building testing, including walk tests and stationary measurements, to evaluate signal levels for various carriers and technologies (e.g., 4G, 5G).
    • Identify the locations of the base stations servicing each site, some of which are rural.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze data collected from survey devices to assess the quality of cellular coverage, including signal strength, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and data throughput.
    • Generate detailed reports, including heat maps, signal strength maps, and recommendations for improving coverage.
    • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including healthcare facility administrators and network engineers.
  • Network Design and Optimization Support:
    • Collaborate with network engineers to provide insights for designing Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) or small cell solutions based on assessment results.
    • Recommend and validate potential locations for cellular enhancement devices (e.g., repeaters, boosters) within the facility.
    • Assist in the deployment and testing of new cellular infrastructure to ensure effective coverage.
  • Client Interaction and Support:
    • Work closely with hospital and clinic administrators to understand their cellular coverage needs and concerns.
    • Provide technical guidance and support during and after the assessment process, addressing any questions or issues.
    • Train clients or internal teams on best practices for maintaining and improving cellular coverage.
  • Compliance and Standards:
    • Ensure all assessments and reports comply with industry standards and healthcare facility requirements.
    • Stay updated on the latest cellular technologies, tools, and best practices, particularly those relevant to healthcare environments.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all assessments, including site notes, maps, and test results.
    • Document recommendations and follow-up actions for future reference and implementation.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cellular network assessments or RF engineering.
    • Proficiency in using advanced survey equipment and software for cellular coverage validation is required.
    • Experience working in healthcare environments is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of cellular network principles, including RF propagation, signal attenuation, and interference management.
    • Familiarity with cellular technologies and standards (e.g., LTE, 5G).
    • Ability to interpret complex data and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Certifications:
    • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., iBwave, DAS certification) are a plus.
    • Training or certification in advanced survey software is desirable.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to carry and operate survey equipment, including laptops and signal analyzers.
  • Comfortable walking and standing for extended periods during site assessments.
  • Ability to travel to various hospital and clinic sites as needed.
Work Environment:
  • Work may involve visits to various healthcare environments, including hospitals, clinics, and medical offices.
