Telemetry Technician

We are seeking a skilled Telemetry Technician to join our team at Huntsville Memorial Hospital. As a Telemetry Technician, you will be responsible for providing surveillance of telemetry monitors throughout the hospital, performing accurate EKG rhythm interpretation, and providing notification to appropriate nursing staff when telemetry monitor changes are noted.

• Provide precise continual surveillance and analysis of cardiac rhythms on electrocardiographic central monitoring station, documenting per established procedure.
• Escalate significant or life-threatening changes immediately, utilizing appropriate ECG algorithm, to a Registered Nurse, as appropriate.
• Obtain rhythm strips per hospital cardiac telemetry procedure, measure, analyze, and document findings.
• Operate, clean, and troubleshoot all functions of the telemetry monitoring system, accounting for all monitors at the end of each assigned shift.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge patient and enter all required information in telemetry monitoring system.
• Participate in teamwork by responding positively to requests for assistance.
• Demonstrate adaptability, problem-solving, and professional behavior at all times.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement programs.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and appropriate handling of PHI.
• Abide by the HMH Legal Compliance Code of Conduct.
• Maintain a safe work environment and report safety concerns appropriately.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience preferred.
• Current C.N.A certification, EMT-B or EMT-I preferred.
