Job Summary:

The Certified Welder is a key member of our production team, responsible for performing high-quality welding on facility items and equipment. This role requires a strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and a commitment to meeting production standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform welding certification samples per Roots specifications, meeting all inspection requirements.
  • Conduct various types of welding, brazing, flame hardening, and torch heating and cutting on production and repair services.
  • Qualify on and maintain Roots brazing certifications.
  • Perform fitting and weld prep operations, as directed, on materials to be joined.
  • Operate a hydraulic press to form centrifugal blades.
  • Position all work and grind and clean their own weldments.
  • Verify acceptability of all production components, including but not limited to impellers and other production components and repair work up to final inspection.
  • Operate an electric pot to prepare Babbitt and pour Babbitt pounders.
Requirements:
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Open to any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer literacy.
