Diagnostic Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Technologist to join our Imaging Team at UPMC Horizon - Shenango Valley. This full-time role will involve working variable shifts, including every other weekend and rotating holidays.

We are currently offering sign-on bonuses for Diagnostic Technologist positions. The amount of the bonus is dependent on your years of Diagnostic Technology experience.

As a Diagnostic Technologist, you will perform imaging procedures at a technical level, requiring independent judgment and initiative. You will competently perform a variety of technical procedures, applying prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities
  • Identify patients properly using two patient identifiers and universal protocol
  • Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols
  • Document patient history in electronic records
  • Administer PO and rectal contrast per physician orders/department policy
  • Ensure exams are properly coded and tracked through RIS system
  • Perform diagnostic radiography procedures utilizing established protocols/procedures

You will work as a team member within the department and all other departments to expedite patient care efficiently. You will demonstrate a strong ability to interact with patients and co-workers, displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT-approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date
  • ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist
  • CPR or BLS required
