About the Role

At WinCo Foods, we're seeking a skilled Shop Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing our warehouse material handling equipment, sanitation equipment, and personnel carriers. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of our facilities, enabling us to provide exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electric forklifts, pallet jacks, scrubbers, sweepers, and personnel carriers to ensure they're in good working condition.
  • Building Maintenance: Conduct repairs and maintenance on building equipment, including air compressors, cooler and freezer doors, dock levelers, lights, and other items as needed.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized shop and work area, adhering to safety standards and protocols.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with maintenance department personnel and operations teams to ensure seamless workflow and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of DC electrical systems, material handling equipment, and shop tools. Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment, as well as maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Certifications: Obtain certifications in aerial work platform, forklifts, man-up lift, pallet jacks, transporters, and welding within six months of hire.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, with exposure to heavy equipment, cleaning agents, grease, oil, and large industrial batteries. You'll be required to push and pull hand trucks, push carts, and pallet jacks containing loads of substantial weight, as well as bend, stoop, twist, turn, squat, kneel, and crawl frequently.
