Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Acquisition Consultant to provide strategic acquisition guidance and subject matter expertise to COMSATCOM customers and requirements. As a member of our team, you will advise HQ USSF on acquisition strategies as the COMSATCOM market evolves. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing oversight in the development of acquisition plans in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 7.1 to identify all acquisition milestones and establish and delineate the acquisition strategies.
  • Coordinating with systems engineers to ensure technical requirements are achievable.
  • Ensuring the procurement strategies are achievable for the intended results and in accordance with the FARs and guidelines.
  • Leading the development of performance metrics to establish a performance-based contractual relationship with potential industry partners.
  • Drafting contractual modifications, as required by Government Contracting Officers.
  • Creating effective and prompt written communications.
  • Communicating verbally with all levels of the organization.
  • Monitoring procurement milestones and making certain deadlines are met.
  • Assisting the Government with responding to industry communications, including industry days, questions and answers, and requests for clarification.
  • Assisting the Government in managing Defense Working Capital Funds (DWCFs) and Appropriated accounts, tracking and managing accounts receivable, audit program designation codes, and organizational accounts.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Government acquisition;
  • Bachelor's Degree;
  • Secret Clearance Required;
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with program/project management operations preferred;
  • Knowledge of COMSATCOM provider business models preferred;
  • Experience with satellite systems and Satellite Communications (SATCOM) requirements-based planning and service provisioning preferred;
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM) Certification preferred;
  • TS/SCI is preferred.
