Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Horizon Realty Advisors. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance needs of our properties, ensuring that all facilities are well-maintained and meet the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance technicians and porters to ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Inspect properties regularly to identify and address any maintenance issues or concerns.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize future repairs and extend the life of our properties.
  • Manage and maintain a well-organized and properly stocked maintenance shop, adhering to safety standards and OSHA guidelines.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and other building systems.
  • Design, implement, and execute in-house and/or capital projects as assigned by the Property Manager or Corporate team.
  • Ensure consistency in dealing with residents on all matters, complying with all federal, state, and local laws relating to Fair Housing.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and vendors.
  • Ability to lift and work with heavy equipment as needed.
