Our Bay area tax practice is adept at addressing the distinct challenges faced by affluent individuals and privately held business owners, as well as partnerships and flow-through entities. We assist executives, business owners, wealthy families, family offices, estates, and trusts in managing, preserving, and transitioning their wealth. Our consulting professionals deliver comprehensive strategic services in income, trust, estate, gift tax, succession planning, valuation, and international tax.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering compliance and consulting services to high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational affluent families, family offices, and their private businesses or investment entities, partnerships, and flow-throughs:
- Conducting technical reviews of complex individual, partnership, S-corp, trust, estate, gift, and state tax returns.
- Leading multiple engagements that provide proactive tax planning and strategic consulting, including federal estate, gift, charitable planning, and generation-skipping tax.
- Advising clients on business succession planning.
- Enhancing technical expertise by staying informed on trends, developments, and technical authorities and applying them to complex scenarios.
- Assisting in managing client engagement staffing, billing/collections, and ensuring client profitability targets are achieved.
- Utilizing your entrepreneurial skills to cultivate and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally with clients.
- Investing in your professional development through individual efforts and participation in firm-wide learning and development initiatives.
- Supporting the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, aiding associates in achieving their professional objectives.
Successful candidates will possess:
- An undergraduate degree in Accounting or a related field.
- CPA, MST, or JD/LLM credentials.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in tax return review and planning for affluent individuals, their family members, and associated trusts, investment entities, and private businesses. This includes extensive experience in personal taxation, trust taxation, estate & gift taxation, charitable taxation, with exposure to flow-through entities, partnership taxation, and corporate taxation, including State & Local income (SALT)/Franchise tax for multi-state filers.
- At least two (2) years of supervisory experience, including mentoring and counseling associates.
- The ability to lead and supervise others, deliver exceptional client service, demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning to remain current on applicable strategies, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and timely project completion.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is highly preferred.
For California, Colorado, New York, and Washington: The compensation range for this role is $119,070 to $252,370. Actual compensation is influenced by various factors, including skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
