We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Ecology Auto Parts, Inc. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing diagnosis and preventive maintenance services on a variety of heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services on diesel vehicles and equipment.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Work under limited supervision and select from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
- Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
- Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisition new parts.
- Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns and conduct annual safety checks on vehicles.
- Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software and document parts usage and repair times.
- Assist other mechanics in the completion of project work and review Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Three (3) years of relevant work experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification or diploma in automotive technology or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and compliance standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
- Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity most of the workday.
- Required to exert physical effort in handling heavy objects most of the workday.
- Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements often.
The Diesel Mechanic position offers a highly competitive hourly range of $25 to $35 per hour.
