Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Ecology Auto Parts, Inc. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing diagnosis and preventive maintenance services on a variety of heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services on diesel vehicles and equipment.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
  • Work under limited supervision and select from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
  • Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
  • Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisition new parts.
  • Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns and conduct annual safety checks on vehicles.
  • Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software and document parts usage and repair times.
  • Assist other mechanics in the completion of project work and review Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Requirements
  • Three (3) years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification or diploma in automotive technology or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and compliance standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity most of the workday.
  • Required to exert physical effort in handling heavy objects most of the workday.
  • Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements often.
Compensation

The Diesel Mechanic position offers a highly competitive hourly range of $25 to $35 per hour. In addition to the wages, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k plan with employer matching, generous paid time off, and life insurance coverage.
