Job Title: Volleyball Head Coach

Job Summary:

The Broward County Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Volleyball Head Coach to lead our school's volleyball program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive coaching plan that promotes student-athlete growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a coaching plan that aligns with the school's athletic program goals and objectives.
  • Recruit, select, and manage a team of assistant coaches.
  • Plan and conduct practices, games, and other team activities.
  • Develop and implement a system for evaluating player performance and progress.
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administrators.
  • Ensure compliance with school and district policies, as well as state and national regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.

Requirements:

  • Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of any General Education Development (GED) Testing Program.
  • Florida State Statute mandates that all high school coaches hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate. Applicants who do not hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate will be required to obtain an Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education.
  • Knowledge of the sport and the ability to impart this knowledge.

Working Conditions:

The work environment is a school setting with occasional travel to away games and tournaments. The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. The length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the School Board.
