Job Profile: Cake Decorator

Location: Operations

Reports To: Store Manager/Assistant Manager

Position Purpose

At The Cookie Place, Inc., the Cake Decorator plays a vital role in creating visually appealing and delicious cakes and cookies for our customers. This position is crucial in the marketing and display of our products, ensuring a high-quality customer experience.

The Cake Decorator works under the supervision of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager to design, market, and deliver customized cakes and cookies that meet our guests' expectations. Key responsibilities include icing and decorating custom cakes and other products based on customer and company specifications, maximizing sales growth, operating the store according to company standards, and delivering exceptional customer service consistent with our company culture.

Primary Accountabilities

Operations and Financial Management
  • Decorate cookies and cakes with a variety of templates and designs.
  • Create custom designs based on customer specifications and preferences.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure all orders are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, creating a memorable experience for our guests.
  • Prepare ingredients for baking and decorating, ensuring high-quality products.
  • Operate an oven and bake ingredients within standard constraints.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, adhering to company standards.


People Management
  • Coach and develop associates to meet operational goals and objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Operate a register and maintain accountability for cash handling procedures.


Administrative Management
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.


Other
  • Adhere to all company standards and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the success of the store.


Position Specifications

Requirements
  • 2-5 years of retail and/or food service management experience.
  • 2-5 years of customer service experience.
  • 1-2 years of cake decorating experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a passion for delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with others.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
