This department is an 30-bed, telemetry unit that services pre/post-surgical patients with various medical conditions in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team. You will have the ability to work with physicians that are constantly pushing the bounds of possibility forward, conducting groundbreaking research and providing lifesaving, personalized patient care. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.
Job Responsibilities- Utilize appropriate assessment skills to determine patient needs.
- Develop a plan of care for those patients whose needs do not require the expertise of a Case Manager or collaborate with the Case Manager to develop a plan of care for specified patients.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned by Care Center Director or Patient Care Manager.
- Provide support to peers by assisting as needed, being a resource person and working as a team member.
- Assist Care Center in development/attainment of goals and objectives.
- Use clinical pathways and/or plans of care incorporating standards of practice.
- Assess own need for professional growth and development and seek appropriate resources to meeting needs.
- Attend continuing education programs and participate in program evaluation.
- Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a commitment to enroll in a BSN program within six (6) to nine (9) months of hire and complete the degree within 30 months.
- Current Illinois RN license.
- Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
