We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Preventionist to join our team at Life Care Center of Coos Bay. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing education programs to ensure patient safety and quality care, as well as overseeing the facility's infection prevention and control program.
Key Responsibilities- Staff Development: Plan, organize, and direct in-service education to ensure patient safety and quality care.
- Infection Prevention and Control: Evaluate the quality of resident care and outcomes related to Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI) and Community Acquired Infections (CAI). Collect, prepare, and analyze HAI data. Present infection data and make recommendations for actions.
- Education and Training: Prepare and present education for staff, residents, and families. Serve as a resource to all departments and personnel.
- Reporting and Compliance: Report to the Director of Nursing (DON) and maintain an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing throughout employment.
- Nursing Diploma: Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing or higher.
- Licensure: Licensed/registered in applicable State.
- Certifications: Certifications or training per State requirements (e.g., Certified TB Nurse).
- Experience: One (1) year geriatric nursing experience preferred.
- CPR Certification: CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation.
- Teaching/education experience: Preferred.
- Specialized IPC training: Beyond initial professional training or education prior to assuming the role.
The RN SDC/Infection Preventionist will work onsite at the physical facility and may not be an off-site consultant or perform the IP work at a separate location.
