Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Supervisor to join our team at Shyft6. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the lab operations, ensuring accuracy and precision of results, and providing technical support to staff.

About the Role

The Technical Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring that all testing personnel receive regular in-service training and education appropriate for the type and complexity of the laboratory services performed. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lab Operations Management
    • Lead the lab operations team to ensure efficient and accurate testing processes
    • Maintain quality control policies and procedures to ensure precision and accuracy of results
  • Technical Support
    • Provide on-site, telephone, or electronic support to resolve technical problems in accordance with established policies and procedures
    • Verify test procedures and establish laboratory test performance characteristics as distributed by the Quality Assurance Department
  • Training and Development
    • Evaluate the competency of all testing personnel and assure that staff maintain their competency to perform test procedures and report results promptly, accurately, and proficiently
    • Identify training needs and provide regular in-service training and education to staff
  • Documentation and Compliance
    • Maintain up-to-date documentation of laboratory procedures, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
    • Ensure adherence to annual Safety, Compliance, HIPAA training, and monthly CEU requirements
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science required; Master's or PhD preferred
  • Experience
    • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a laboratory setting
    • Doctoral degree in medical laboratory, clinical laboratory science, chemical, or biological science with 1 year training and experience in the respective specialty; OR Master's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, or biological science and 2 years training and experience in high-complexity testing in the respective specialty; OR Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, or biological science and 4 years training and experience in high-complexity testing in the respective specialty
  • Certifications/Licenses
    • ASCP/AMT certification or equivalent preferred
Estimated Salary Range:

$80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience
