Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Unity Health Network. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our patients while working in conjunction with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, and handle referrals as needed
  • Perform clinical intake with patients, including taking and recording vital signs and patient history
  • Assist patients with walking, transfer, specimen collection, exam preparation, and other tasks as needed
  • Maintain clinical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper storage of biohazards
  • Clean exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control
  • Assist providers with minor, in-office procedures and perform point-of-care testing
Requirements
  • High School diploma or completion of an equivalent adult education program
  • Active Medical Assistant Certification or the ability to obtain certification within 3 months of employment
  • CPR and/or BLS certification or ability to obtain prior to employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience with electronic medical records software
  • Experience performing medical back office tasks, including obtaining vital signs, injections/immunizations, phlebotomy, urinalysis, and administering medications
  • Experience performing medical front office tasks, including scheduling appointments, prior authorizations, medication refills, and referrals
