We are seeking a talented Architectural Fabrication Specialist to contribute to our projects at ZGF Architects LLP.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring the successful execution of our architectural designs, requiring innovative thinking, expertise in three-dimensional modeling, and the capability to understand architectural plans and sketches.
As an Architectural Fabrication Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Creating precise scale models using a variety of materials and fabrication methods
- Effectively managing multiple projects under tight timelines
- Utilizing standard office applications for clear communication
- Overseeing shop organization and ensuring it is adequately equipped
- Providing training and assistance to design personnel in model fabrication
- Maintaining vendor relationships and overseeing production processes and budgets
- Offering fabrication solutions that extend beyond traditional scale models
- Investigating new materials and innovative fabrication techniques
- Collaborating with the broader model-making team
Qualifications:
- Comfort and familiarity with woodworking tools and safety protocols
- Demonstrated experience in meeting deadlines, managing projects, and allocating resources in a dynamic environment
- Strong manual skills and attention to detail in the fabrication of components
- Knowledge of both digital fabrication equipment and conventional tools
- A minimum of an associate degree in architecture or a related discipline
- A bachelor's degree is preferred
- At least two years of experience with Laser Cutting, 3D Printing, and CNC technology
- Proficiency in Rhino, along with familiarity with other 3D design software such as Revit and SketchUp
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $95,000 per year.
