Cloud Infrastructure Architect

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Architect to join our team at Turion Space. As a key member of our platform engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing cloud-agnostic infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Implement Cloud-Agnostic Infrastructure: Help design and implement infrastructure-agnostic internal developer platforms and self-service tools.
  • Abstraction Layers and Interfaces: Assist in creating abstraction layers and interfaces for infrastructure portability.
  • Reusable Infrastructure Components: Contribute to building and maintaining reusable infrastructure components and templates.
  • Platform APIs and Tools: Support the development of platform APIs and tools.
  • Cloud-Observed Solutions: Help implement cloud-observed and monitoring solutions.
  • Standardized Deployment Patterns: Assist in creating standardized deployment patterns and workflows.
  • Container Orchestration Platform: Support and improve our container orchestration platform.
  • Documentation and Training: Contribute to platform documentation and training materials.
Immediate Impact:
  • Support Development Teams: Support development teams with their current CI/CD and deployment needs in AWS.
  • AWS Infrastructure Management: Manage and maintain existing AWS infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
  • Production Issues: Assist with immediate production issues and deployments.
  • Cloud-Agnostic Solutions: Help teams design cloud-agnostic solutions while working within current AWS constraints.
  • Cloud Infrastructure and Containerization: Help teams with their cloud infrastructure and containerization needs.
  • On-Call Rotations: Participate in on-call rotations for both platform and production support.
Qualifications:
  1. Personnel Security Clearance (PCL): Must be able to obtain and maintain a Personnel Security Clearance (PCL).
  2. Software Development Experience: 3+ years of experience in software development, DevOps, or platform engineering.
  3. Strong Understanding: Strong understanding of infrastructure-agnostic design principles and containerization.
  4. Infrastructure as Code: Experience with infrastructure as code (AWS CDK, Terraform, or similar).
  5. Containerization and Orchestration: Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  6. API Design and Development: Basic understanding of API design and development.
  7. Cloud Provider Experience: Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS preferred).
  8. Programming Language Experience: Experience with at least one programming language (Python, TypeScript, or Go).
  9. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
  10. Communication Skills: Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  11. Security Best Practices: Basic understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
  12. Physical Ability: Physical ability to occasionally work with server equipment (lifting up to 50 pounds, rack mounting).

$120,000 - $150,000 per year
