Job Title: Elect Neuro Tech I

Unit: Neurodiagnostic Lab

Shift: 7a-7:30p, Fri-Sat-Sun, holiday rotation, no on call

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Elect Neuro Tech I to join our Neurodiagnostic Lab team. As an Elect Neuro Tech I, you will be responsible for performing neurodiagnostic procedures, including EEGs and EP studies, under the supervision of a neurologist.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform EEG procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluate EEGs and EP studies for technical quality.
  2. Assist neurologists in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.
  3. Obtain clinical history and data for correlation with the EEG/EP procedure.
  4. Ensure electrode application in adherence with the International 10-20 System.
  5. Implement activation procedures and safety measures in accordance with EEG/EP policies/procedures.
  6. Identify various types of EEG patterns.
  7. Communicate effectively with physicians and co-workers.
  8. Assess learning needs and educate patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs.
  9. Coordinate patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction.
  10. Ensure that all records, files, and reports are properly recorded as required, perform clerical duties when necessary, verify a signed physician order is received, and correspond with the billed procedure.
  11. Maintain equipment in good working condition and maintain knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.
