Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and friendly Host/Hostess to join our team at Skull Creek Boathouse. As a Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing the efficient seating of guests, and promoting a positive dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcoming and warmly greeting guests upon arrival
  • Managing the efficient and timely seating of guests
  • Promoting and working in a manner consistent with the mission of the SERG Restaurant Group
  • Providing guests with menus and informing them of their server's name upon seating
  • Recording guest names and the number of people in party and providing guests with estimated waiting time when immediate seating is limited
  • Assigning guests to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation
  • Speaking with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service
  • Answering telephone calls and responding to inquiries or transferring calls
  • Maintaining contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and guests to ensure that dining details are handled properly and customers' concerns are addressed
  • Informing guests of establishment specialties and features
  • Receiving and recording guests' dining reservations
  • Inspecting restrooms for cleanliness and availability of supplies and cleaning restrooms when necessary
  • Relaying messages to servers and bussers as needed
  • Thanking guests as they leave and inviting them to return
  • Attending all scheduled employee meetings and offering suggestions for improvement
  • Coordinating with and assisting fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support the operation of the restaurant
  • Filling-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations
  • Taking and preparing to-go orders
  • Operating cash registers to accept payments for food and beverages
  • Assisting with preparing and serving food and beverages
Requirements
  • Able to understand and speak using the predominant language(s) of guests
  • Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
  • Possess organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Exceptional grooming habits
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
