Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Monitor Specialist to join our team at Tucson Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing continuous cardiac monitor observation to detect, record, and report normal and abnormal heart rhythms patterns and provide ECG interval measurements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and ensure proper functioning of ECG monitoring equipment
  • Apply electrodes on predetermined measured positions on the patient and check their performance
  • Record and calculate all necessary parameters and interpret ECG tracings for diagnostic purposes
  • Monitor patient condition levels and report changes to the appropriate individuals
  • Respond to emergency situations
  • Maintain logs or reports as directed for equipment malfunctions
  • Perform clerical duties such as answering telephone
  • Participate in the orientation of new personnel and in the ongoing in-service education of the team
  • Adhere to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values policies and standards
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • No experience required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Skill in attention to detail and following directions
  • Ability to learn how to set up equipment to ensure the most accurate readings
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to listen and accurately interpret others' communication or instructions to take appropriate action
