Job Opportunity: Clinical Residency in Veterinary Production Management

We are pleased to announce a 3-year clinical residency program offering a Master of Science (MS) degree in Veterinary Production Management. This program is tailored for candidates aiming for certification by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Food Animal) or the American College of Theriogenologists. Ideal applicants will possess a DVM or equivalent degree, have hands-on experience with food animals, a background in clinical education, and demonstrate a strong dedication to service along with exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Devote two-thirds of the role to clinical practice and training in food animal medicine and surgery, focusing on production management.
  • Allocate one-third of the time to research and academic pursuits.
  • Engage in individual patient care, herd health management, and client consultations within the community.
  • Participate in emergency service rotations, initially under guidance and progressively taking on independent responsibilities as the program evolves.
  • Benefit from educational rotations within the veterinary college and external opportunities each year.
  • Contribute to didactic and laboratory instruction in the DVM curriculum.
  • Complete a Master's thesis within the 3-year timeframe and participate in ongoing education and outreach initiatives.

Qualifications Required:

  • DVM degree or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 1 year of active veterinary practice in food animal species or a relevant internship experience.
  • Eligibility for veterinary licensure in the state.

  • Previous research experience.
  • Background in clinical education.
  • Proven commitment to service.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
