The Nurse Assistant is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families. As a Nurse Assistant, you will work closely with our Registered Nurses to deliver exceptional care and services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Convey care, compassion, and respect to patients and significant others during all interactions.
- Perform basic patient care functions, including positioning, ambulation, delivery of trays and feeding, skin/hair/mouth care, range of motion, and linen changes.
- Complete vital signs accurately and notify the Registered Nurse of vital signs outside the designated range.
- Respond to patient call lights and requests from patients and significant others.
- Administer basic treatments/procedures as delegated by the Registered Nurse, such as ice bags, K-pads, and CPMs.
- Document results and completion of assigned responsibilities accurately in the medical record.
- Transport patients to other locations within the Health System via appropriate mode as directed by the Registered Nurse.
- Identify opportunities for clinical performance improvement, communicate these to patient care leaders, and actively participate in efforts to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of patient care.
- Responsible for ordering and proper storage of supplies in designated areas.
- Update the whiteboard with names of caregivers, date, and time at the beginning of the shift.
