We are seeking a highly skilled System Engineer to join our team at Generis Tek Inc. in Philadelphia, PA.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have extensive experience with Linux operating systems, including scripting and common tools and utilities. They will also possess excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, as well as a good understanding of VoIP/UC related applications and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and maintain the current infrastructure by performing regular IT tasks such as backup, upgrade, patch deployment, and system monitoring.
  • Work with other engineers and partners to resolve systemic issues.
  • Assess utilization trends and make appropriate design and implementation recommendations to scale the UC infrastructure.
  • Identify and deploy new solutions based on provided requirements and needs.
  • Provide system and network architecture design recommendations.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience with Linux operating systems, including scripting and common tools and utilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Good understanding of VoIP/UC related applications and protocols, including SIP, UDP, RTP, SDP, and TLS.
  • Moderate experience with common Web Services (REST, SOAP).
  • Moderate experience with automation tools, such as Ansible, and at least one scripting language.
  • Good working knowledge of the following protocols: HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, and SAML.
  • Good understanding of LAN and WAN technologies, including Ethernet, VLAN, and Routing.
  • Familiarity with markup languages, namely HTML and XML.
  • Experience with packet analyzers.
  • ELK and Kibana mandatory.
