Director of Medical-Surgical Nursing Operations

We are in search of a highly skilled and experienced nursing leader to oversee the Medical-Surgical Nursing Services at a Magnet-designated healthcare facility. This pivotal role requires a commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery and ensuring excellence in patient care.
As the Administrative Director, you will utilize your extensive background in nursing leadership to manage and coordinate the care provided by nursing staff, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency throughout the organization.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic oversight and management of operational, regulatory, and business processes within the nursing department.
- Identify and address systemic challenges to promote the delivery of superior patient care.
- Drive departmental initiatives to implement change and encourage innovative practices.
- Foster professional development and self-improvement among staff to achieve operational excellence, patient safety, and quality outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in hospital nursing leadership with a strong record of team success:
o Required: 3-5 years of prior hospital or nursing management experience
o Strongly Preferred: Over 5 years of nursing leadership experience in a hospital setting
- Educational Background:
o Required:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
o Preferred:
Master of Science in Nursing (may be in progress)
- Demonstrated leadership skills focused on enhancing patient care and operational effectiveness.
- Exceptional communication abilities to engage effectively with team members, patients, and stakeholders.
- Strong time management and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience in managing and executing complex operational and regulatory processes within a healthcare environment.
- Actively participate in various committees focused on process improvement, standardization, and regulatory compliance.
- Implement strategic plans by establishing and monitoring key performance indicators and objectives.
- Define the scope of nursing services in alignment with the institution's values, mission, and strategic goals.
- Contribute to the development of long-term departmental strategies.
- Familiarity with human relations, customer service, inventory management, and budget oversight.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams while managing multiple requests and deadlines.
- Goal-oriented with a proactive approach to self-development and maintaining organizational skills.

- Licensure:

Active Nursing License in the state of Missouri
