About the Role

Guthrie Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN to join our Endocrinology team as a Clinical Team Lead. This is a full-time day shift position, working 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct patient care and prepare patients for exams or treatments, obtaining and recording vital signs and other relevant information.
  • Screen, communicate, and respond to patient needs, triaging emergency calls using approved protocols and documenting phone calls according to standards.
  • Anticipate patient and practitioner needs during exams and treatments.
  • Administer prescribed injections and medications, recording them on patient charts and maintaining knowledge of all medicines, side effects, and clinical practices.
  • Manage patient flow to ensure adequate time for patient care and family education.
  • Route patients to proper areas for ancillary testing or follow-up appointments.
  • Perform clerical functions, including answering phones and monitoring blood sugars.
  • Attend to exam rooms, ensuring proper supplies are available and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Monitor and manage workflows to ensure medication refills are completed appropriately.
  • Write or call in prescriptions after obtaining provider authorization and documenting in patient charts.
  • Provide education according to evidence-based guidelines, interacting with patients, families, and care teams.
  • Assist in smooth departmental operation by filling in for other staff members as requested.
  • Provide follow-up information to ensure patient compliance with recommendations, medication, lab/x-ray, etc.
  • Develop care initiatives to assess and coordinate diabetes care management, including counseling and assistance with monitoring chronic and serious medical conditions.
  • Partner with the practice director to ensure patient needs are met, performance standards are maintained, and appropriate staffing levels are assigned.
Requirements
  • Current RN license in the state where employment is located.
  • At least 5 years of RN experience, with 3 years specific to Endocrinology.
  • Leadership experience with direct responsibility to others is preferred.
