About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Housekeeper to join our team at The Waterford, a leading provider of senior living services. As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of our residents' living spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize residents' rooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Vacuum, dust, and clean interior windows in resident suites and common areas as assigned.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, wash floors, make beds, and take linens to laundry.
  • Prepare cleaning solutions and utilize cleaning supplies in accordance with established procedures and safe practices.
  • Ensure furniture is arranged to provide a safe and efficient environment.
  • Check and restock laundry supplies as required.
  • Ensure laundry equipment and supplies are used and stored in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Report unsafe or faulty equipment to the Manager.
  • Ensure health, safety, and hygiene practices/procedures are adhered to and assist in maintaining quality assurance standards.
  • Deliver laundered linens to residents' rooms.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of and comply with Centurypeople policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all WHMIS requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Grade 10 education or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge about the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment required.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to carry out the assigned duties with minimum supervision.
  • Must possess the qualities and attitude that respects and maintains the spirit, dignity, and individuality of the residents.
  • Must be able to speak and understand English competently and to understand written and oral instructions in English.
  • Must be capable of safely and efficiently operating all equipment associated with the duties required for the position.
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relations by displaying tact, courtesy, and patience with residents, staff, visitors, and volunteers in the workplace.
