Astrix, a prominent player in the medical manufacturing sector, is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Scientist to enhance their team.

Compensation: $25-$34/hour

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

Position Overview:

• Manage a variety of fermenters for processes including batching, sterilization, inoculation, monitoring, harvesting, and cleaning.
• Conduct aseptic handling and testing of bacterial cultures.
• Formulate solutions, encompassing both acids and bases.
• Isolate proteins from bacterial sources utilizing chromatographic methods.
• Utilize laboratory equipment in accordance with established protocols.
• Recognize and execute basic maintenance tasks on equipment.
• Accurately document activities using data collection tools.
• Work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or a related discipline.
• Preferred experience in fermentation processes and protein purification.
• Strong laboratory skills including pipetting, aseptic techniques, and the use of biosafety cabinets and fume hoods, as well as spectrophotometric analysis and autoclave operation.
• Willingness to occasionally work nights and weekends.
• Capability to work at a laboratory bench for extended durations and lift weights up to 40 lbs.
