Job Title: Specimen Collector

Millennium Health is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Specimen Collector to join our team. As a Specimen Collector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our laboratory testing services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect patient urine and/or oral fluid specimens in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Process and package collections or shipping to ensure timely delivery to our laboratory.
  • Serve as an intermediary between our laboratory and healthcare providers to resolve specimen-related issues.
  • Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information in our electronic system.
  • Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in our ordering portal.
  • Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite.
  • Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens (when applicable).
Requirements:
  • 6+ months of experience as a specimen collector or 1+ years of experience in the medical field, directly supporting patients.
  • 2+ years of customer service experience can be considered in place of medical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate a smartphone and computer required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Medical insurance/billing and/or familiarity with medications/diagnostic codes is a plus.
  • Ability to ensure HIPAA, HiTrust, Confidentiality and Compliance policy, procedures, and standards are always adhered to.
  • Ability to ensure administrative, physical and technical cyber security controls are always adhered to.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Physical requirements: sitting 90%, walking 5%, standing 5%, lifting up to 20 lbs.
