Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled diesel service technician to join our team at Butler Machinery Company. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing a variety of heavy equipment, including construction, agricultural, and power generation machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with scheduling work in the shop and field
  • Troubleshoot and repair all aspects of our product lines
  • Charge out a large percentage of time to revenue work orders
  • Address safety-related issues in the shop
  • Assist with contamination control procedures
  • Support technicians on field jobs with tooling, ordering parts, and providing information
  • Maintain a clean and organized workplace
  • Handle special projects as needed
  • Assist with receiving and delivery of equipment
  • Keep track of small tools, repairs needed, and general condition
  • Work closely with trainees and technicians
  • Assist with the work order process from open to close
  • Make final inspection on all work leaving the service department
Requirements
  • Technical degree in a mechanical related field or equivalent combination of business experience, training, and/or education
  • Three years minimum mechanical experience with Caterpillar and AGCO preferred
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Ability to work with Ag, Truck, and Heavy equipment customers
  • Individual must meet driver insurability standards
