Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Harrison Senior Living is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

Job Summary:

The LPN will assume responsibility for total resident care on a designated unit, performing professional nursing duties and assuring the completion of nurse aide duties. You will work closely with all disciplines to ensure high-quality resident care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain charge and direction of the floor in cooperation with the Director of Resident Services to ensure quality resident care.
  • Create nurse aide assignments as needed to meet resident needs.
  • Notify the Director of Resident Services of any changes in resident condition or issues with staff members.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Keep the medicine cart locked at all times when out of view.
  • Update resident support plans daily as needed.
  • Assess residents and follow through according to established policies and procedures.
  • Assist with resident ADLs as necessary.
  • Assist with resident meals and fluid intake to ensure proper nutrition.
  • Accompany physicians on resident visits as needed to ensure continuity of care.
  • Transcribe physician orders in a timely manner.
  • Observe nursing care and visit residents throughout the shift to ensure care is carried out as directed.
  • Participate in receiving report from the off-going shift and giving report to the on-coming shift to ensure continuity of care.
  • Communicate necessary information to nurse aides.
  • Monitor care provided by Nurse Aides.
  • Complete resident incident/accident reports in a timely manner.
  • Collect samples from residents for testing as needed.
  • Communicate information as necessary with families, residents, staff, etc.
  • Ensure adequate supplies are available on the floor for all disciplines.
  • Participate in staff meetings to enhance communication between all disciplines.
  • Participate in problem resolution regarding employees and floor issues.
  • Participate in orientation and training of personnel.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Accurately document all care provided to residents during the shift and before the end of the shift.
  • Chart medications immediately after administration, per policy.
  • Provide input to the Director of Resident Services concerning nurse aide performance.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-services, mandatory trainings/in-services, and continuing education programs.
