About the Position

We are seeking a Part-Time Security Guard to join our team at Austin 147, a residential building in the Bronx. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining access control, detecting and preventing security breaches, and providing directions to visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain access control and traffic inside facilities to ensure the security and safety of people and property.
  • Detect and/or prevent fires, vandalism, theft, or infractions of the rules.
  • Maintain assigned posts throughout the facility until properly relieved.
  • Protect employees, visitors, and tenants.
  • Provide directions to visitors when requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Fingerprinted and obtained Criminal History Checks (CHC) with Justice Center for the Protection of Vulnerable People with Special Needs.
  • Ability to maintain fingerprint clearance throughout the duration of employment.
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must immediately report suspected incidents/cases of abuse and neglect to the Vulnerable Persons Central Register (VPCR) Hotline and complete a CAMBA Incident Report.
  • 8 hour Pre-Assignment security guard training course certificate.
  • 16 hour On-the-Job security guard training course certificate within 90 days of employment.
  • 8 Hour Annual In-Service Course each calendar year.
  • NYS Security Guard license.
  • NYS Security Guard registration.
  • Fire guard certification.

Compensation

$18.00 per hour.
