Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team at our Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) facility. As an LVN, you will play a key role in providing compassionate, recovery-focused care for individuals experiencing acute behavioral health crises. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver nursing services that support stabilization, treatment, and transition back to their communities. This role emphasizes patient safety, therapeutic interventions, and maintaining a supportive environment conducive to recovery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct Patient Care: Provide nursing care for clients in crisis, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and addressing immediate health concerns.
  • Behavioral Health Support: Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and other staff to implement individualized care plans focused on crisis stabilization and mental health recovery.
  • Monitoring & Assessment: Perform ongoing assessments of clients' physical and mental health status, documenting changes and reporting to the healthcare team as necessary.
  • Medication Management: Dispense prescribed medications, educate clients about their medications, and ensure proper documentation and compliance.
  • Crisis Intervention: Support clients in de-escalating emotional or behavioral crises, employing trauma-informed and evidence-based practices.
  • Education & Advocacy: Provide education to clients and families about health and wellness, self-care, and the recovery process, advocating for client needs.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all facility policies, state and federal regulations, and best practices for behavioral health and nursing care.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited LVN program.
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted LVN license in CA.
  • Experience:
    • Prior experience in behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, or crisis intervention is preferred.
    • Experience in a residential or community-based mental health setting is a plus.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
    • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire (preferred).
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication, de-escalation, and crisis management abilities.
    • Understanding of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented practices.
    • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
