AvaMed Workforce is seeking a highly skilled Marriage and Family Therapist to join our team in a full-time capacity at a correctional facility in California.
Job Responsibilities- Conduct assessments and provide clinical treatment interventions, including brief counseling, group therapy, and individual counseling.
- Consult and collaborate with other disciplines for the care and treatment of patients and participate in interdisciplinary care planning and coordination.
- Perform assessments to determine appropriate level of intervention, education, and counseling services within the context of marriage, couples, and family systems, as well as individual biopsychosocial dimensions.
- Conduct Cognitive Behavior Therapy for individuals with Substance Use Disorders (SUD), either in 1:1 and/or group settings, to modify intrapersonal and interpersonal behaviors.
- Conduct assessments for patients preparing for release from the correctional facility.
- Provide education and counseling services to individuals that encourage the development of life skills and strategies for coping and confronting issues related to SUD.
- Develop and/or contribute to treatment and care plans.
- Review patient files, gather data, and complete reports and other required documentation.
- Make recommendations to the care teams, effectively communicate, and collaborate with the patient and all disciplines involved in the care of the patients.
- Document and evaluate patients' progress with programming and facilitate discharges and transfers in coordination with other treatment and rehabilitative programs.
- Work with institutional rehabilitative partners and custody staff to assess patient's participation and progress in services.
- Attend all case conferences, trainings, meetings, and committees as directed, and perform other duties as required.
- Must have a Marriage and Family Therapist license by the California State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy.
