Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Orthopedic Nurse to join our team at Carle Health. As a key member of our medical surgical unit, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and care for patients with orthopedic and medical surgical conditions, including wound care, mobility, and medication management.
  • Collaborate with physicians and surgeons to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Delegate and monitor interventions of the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Set up and manage orthopedic traction and surgical devices for mobility and wound care.
  • Manage wound appliances, including wound vacs, drains, and urological devices.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing.
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License in Illinois and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Attend and complete required continuing education on acute stroke patient care and DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Certification requirements.
