Job Summary:

The University of Iowa Department of Neurology is seeking a highly qualified Epilepsy Specialist to join our team. As a faculty member, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, teaching and mentoring students and residents, and contributing to the department's research and academic mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert care to patients with epilepsy and other neurological disorders
  • Teach and mentor students and residents in the Department of Neurology
  • Contribute to the department's research and academic mission through scholarly activities and collaborations
  • Participate in departmental and university service activities

Requirements:

  • MD degree or equivalent
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Neurology
  • Completion of a fellowship in EEG, Epilepsy, or Clinical Neurophysiology
  • Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of Iowa
  • Board certified or board eligible in Neurology, with added qualification in Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching students and residents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Significant track record of academic or educational accomplishment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for working with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives
