Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Carle Foundation Hospital. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized examinations in Ultrasound, adapting procedures to obtain specific diagnostic and/or therapeutic results, and preparing patients for examinations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform ultrasound procedures within guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards of Medical Imaging to assigned patients.
  • Exhibit competency in performing ultrasound procedures, including knowledge of catheters, biopsy instruments, and sterile trays.
  • Obtain accurate histories and explain rationale for procedure to patients/families.
  • Enhance image quality through the use of appropriate transducers and machine settings.
  • Evaluate the finished images to ensure diagnostic exams are being submitted to the radiologists.
  • Maintain quality care throughout the procedure.
  • Assess the abdominal arterial & venous system using color imaging.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Ultrasound or Related field OR Certificate in Radiologic Technology.
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification in Abdomen (AB), OB/GYNE (OB), Breast (BR), Fetal Echo (FE), Neurosonology (NE), or Peds Sono (PS).
  • BLS within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic reading, writing, and oral English skills.
  • Accountability, multicultural sensitivity, customer/patient focus, basic computer knowledge, critical thinking skills, and ability to respond appropriately to customer/co-worker.
