The District is characterized by small neighborhood schools, providing education from preschool through twelfth grade, and a world-class adult school program offering unique, life-improving courses to thousands of community members.
Job SummaryThe San Luis Coastal Unified School District is recruiting for Crossing Guards to build an eligibility list for vacancies that may occur over a six-month period. Crossing Guards at SLCUSD direct students across intersections, ensuring their safety during access to and departure from school grounds. Hours are typically 30 minutes prior to the start of school and 30 minutes after school is dismissed.

- Work in a team environment to maintain a safe and orderly school environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to ensure a smooth and safe school experience.
- A letter of recommendation may be requested upon approval for hire.
- A Resume is optional but recommended.
WORK YEAR: 180 School days/year; part-time, typically 1-hour per day. A 5% split shift differential in pay is available for those working both mornings and afternoons, based on guidelines in the SEIU agreement. Hours are normally 30 minutes prior to the start of school and 30 minutes after school is dismissed. Start date is dependent on site needs. All job offers are contingent upon Fingerprint, TB Clearance, and completion of all SLCUSD required pre-employment tasks.
PurposeTo establish an eligibility list for vacancies that may occur over a six-month period at various sites in our District. The application will give you the chance to indicate which sites you are interested in working.
Qualification InformationYour District application will be reviewed to determine your eligibility for a position. If eligible, you will be contacted for an interview via phone or email.
