Role Summary

The Clinical Nurse Practitioner (CNP) operates autonomously or collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide services aligned with their specialty. Responsibilities include delivering direct care, promoting health, preventing disease, and offering counseling throughout the patient's life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver comprehensive patient care.
  2. Administer medical services within the scope of training, adhering to established protocols.
  3. Identify as a CNP and maintain proper identification at all times.
  4. Demonstrate professionalism in patient interactions.
  5. Educate and counsel patients on preventive health measures and lifestyle choices.
  6. Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  7. Develop treatment plans for both acute and chronic conditions.
  8. Conduct diagnostic tests and patient evaluations.
  9. Provide additional services as permitted by privileges.
  10. Ensure availability for after-hours patient care and triage.
  11. Participate in extended office hours as approved.
  12. Fulfill administrative responsibilities, including adherence to the Provider Policy Manual.
  13. Assist in medical data collection for reporting and grant applications.
  14. Engage in quality assurance and improvement initiatives as directed.
  15. Maintain electronic health records in compliance with organizational policies.
  16. Report operational issues to management as needed.
  17. Engage in community health initiatives and service programs.
  18. Review and contribute to medical policies and procedures.
  19. Perform additional duties as assigned to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

Essential Attributes:

  1. Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
  2. Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  3. Willingness to travel and cover additional sites as necessary.
  4. Experience in coaching and mentoring clinical staff.

Professional Competencies:

  1. Adhere to safety and OSHA regulations.
  2. Maintain relevant certifications.
  3. Participate in credentialing and peer review processes.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.

Licenses & Certifications:

  1. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
  2. Valid APRN license in the State of Florida.
  3. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Communication Skills:

  1. Effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.

Physical and Emotional Demands:

  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Proficient in operating office equipment.
  • Effective communication with individuals of various backgrounds.
  • Ability to make decisions with minimal guidance.
