Position Summary

The Information Technology Systems Educator will report to the Campus Chair and oversee daily operations within their department. Key responsibilities include advising on course scheduling, contributing to budget planning, guiding student recruitment efforts, managing registration, collaborating with student organizations, maintaining accurate records, and delivering all assigned courses.

Salary: Minimum $46,590 - maximum $94,363 based on experience and educational qualifications. Additional compensation may be available for summer teaching opportunities but is not guaranteed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Deliver classes and labs as assigned, which may occur during various times including day, evening, or weekend sessions.
  2. Guide students in developing academic schedules, planning programs, and providing career counseling.
  3. Ensure course syllabi are current and accessible to all enrolled students, adhering strictly to the syllabus.
  4. Review and suggest updates to the curriculum periodically, providing feedback to the relevant Instructional Discipline Committee.
  5. Assist in formulating course offerings for each term.
  6. Maintain comprehensive records necessary for the instructional program.
  7. Engage in college-wide committees as required.
  8. Provide library resources and information to students.
  9. Exhibit professional conduct in interactions with students, staff, administration, faculty, and the broader college community.
  10. Follow established procedures for all financial operations within the program.
  11. Ensure safety protocols are upheld in classroom, laboratory, and clinical environments.
  12. Actively promote student enrollment in the program and the college.
  13. Compile and submit necessary reports promptly.
  14. Contribute to the planning and budgeting processes for the program.
  15. Support the enforcement of all college policies.
  16. Assist in coordinating the institutional effectiveness plan.
  17. Participate in and facilitate advisory committee meetings.
  18. Attend faculty and staff meetings regularly.
  19. Engage in professional development activities through approved organizations, seminars, and programs aimed at skill enhancement.
  20. Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the Division Chair or other administrative leaders.
Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Information Technology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required. A Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Computer Science is preferred. Candidates should possess knowledge and experience in Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, E-Commerce, computer engineering, information security, cyber security, cloud computing, networking, or application development in mobile and web environments. Proficiency in software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting is essential, along with a working knowledge of networking, system administration, web development with databases, and programming languages. A minimum of three years of teaching experience in a relevant field is preferred, along with strong oral and written communication skills. Teaching experience at the community college level is advantageous.
