About the Role

At Optum, we're committed to helping people live healthier lives. As a Clinical Care Specialist, you'll play a vital role in providing clinical care and education to patients receiving parenteral medications dispensed from our pharmacy. You'll work closely with our team to ensure patients receive safe and effective infusion therapy in their homes or in our ambulatory infusion suite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients and their families, providing education on self-care and self-administration of medication.
  • Assess patient appropriateness for infusion therapy, ensuring the home environment is safe and caregivers are available to support.
  • Document patient medical history and ongoing monitoring of response to therapy.
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to comprehensively plan patient care.
  • Provide skilled care to patients of varying ages and medical conditions, following physician orders and treatment plans.

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in New Mexico.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain prior to starting employment.
  • 1+ years of experience working as an RN in a clinical setting contributing to proficiency in infusion therapy.
  • Electronic medical records documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in home or alternate-site settings.
  • Flexibility to assume a variable work schedule.
