About Us: Jenkins, Taylor & Hunt, P.A. (JTH) is a distinguished legal practice located in a prominent area known for its innovation and research in North Carolina, focusing on intellectual property law.

Position Overview: JTH is in search of a dedicated full-time Junior Patent Counsel to join our electrical engineering division. The ideal candidate will have the chance to work on stimulating and fulfilling projects within a flexible and encouraging atmosphere, contributing to the firm's overall achievements.

Compensation and Benefits: JTH provides a competitive benefits package that includes employer-sponsored insurance (health, dental, life, short-term and long-term disability) for all qualified personnel; paid leave, including select holidays; and a 401K retirement plan. The salary will be competitive and based on relevant experience.

Essential Qualifications:

  • At least a Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Must be registered with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in patent prosecution.
  • Familiarity with USPTO regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems creatively.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, capable of managing multiple projects to completion.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines while adhering to detailed client budgets.
  • Experience managing a docket of cases and handling numerous deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a larger team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
