Labor One Staffing is seeking Certified TIG Pipe Welders for exciting opportunities in the maritime industry.

Position Overview:
As a TIG Pipe Welder, you will be responsible for the planning, layout, welding, installation, testing, and repair of various types of piping and tubular products. Your work will adhere to established plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards while collaborating with other trades as directed by management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all safety, ethical, and environmental regulations while performing job duties.
  • Maintain regular attendance and be available for flexible work hours, including overtime and weekends.
  • Review technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to prepare for welding tasks.
  • Execute welds to meet specified quality standards using the appropriate tools and materials.
  • Install and ensure the functionality of high-pressure steel piping and fittings.
  • Repair or replace damaged piping, fabricate and install metal fittings, and secure components for welding.
  • Utilize hand and power tools to accurately measure, cut, assemble, and install piping systems.
  • Conduct tests on installed piping systems and related components according to specifications.
  • Set up welding equipment and perform welding operations using various techniques.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues as they arise.
  • Produce high-quality welds, including watertight seals, using a variety of materials.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, with three to five years of relevant pipe welding experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of welding equipment, processes, and techniques.
  • Experience with x-ray pipe welding and the ability to weld in all positions.
  • Familiarity with welding symbols, ship terminology, and relevant safety standards.
  • Must successfully complete the SMAW 6G Pipe Test for certification.
Skills:
  • Ability to interpret written and verbal instructions, as well as technical diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with supervisors and team members.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of hand and power tools.
  • Mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires frequent communication and physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Candidates must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces, as well as withstand varying temperatures. Compliance with safety standards and the ability to wear necessary personal protective equipment is essential.
