We are seeking a visionary leader to drive operational and programmatic excellence at Groundwork Southcoast (GWSC). As a member of our Director team, you will play a critical role in advancing our mission to empower youth and adult residents from historically marginalized communities in Fall River and New Bedford.

Responsibilities

Leadership Roles:

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive fundraising and grantmaking strategies to support GWSC's mission.
  • Oversee the management of budgets and financial resources, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial tracking and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for organizational growth and development, collaborating with the Executive Director to develop strategies for sustainable expansion.
  • Maintain and refine operational systems to ensure alignment with GWSC's mission and values.

Collaboration and Community Engagement:

  • Foster relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and donors to advance GWSC's mission.
  • Support the development and implementation of community-based programs, including workforce development initiatives and leadership training.
  • Represent GWSC in meetings and public forums, advocating for environmental justice and community-driven change.

Performance Metrics and Evaluation:

  • Develop and track key performance indicators to measure program outcomes and effectiveness.
  • Assess and improve program systems, providing staff training and development to enhance the effectiveness of community programs.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, program management, fundraising, grantmaking, community engagement, and deep commitment to environmental and social justice and equity.
  • Lived experience in or strong ties to environmental justice (EJ) communities, particularly those impacted by climate change, food insecurity, and environmental justice issues.
  • Ability to transform strategic ideas into actionable plans and successfully execute them to align with organizational goals.
  • Expertise in engaging diverse community members, including youth, young adults, EJ residents, and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills to foster collaboration and community-driven change.
  • Comfortable working outdoors year-round and engaging in physically demanding tasks, including lifting items weighing 40+ lbs.
  • Collaborate effectively in a hybrid work environment.
  • A valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Ability to transport youth and staff as needed for program activities.
  • Ability to track and measure program outcomes both qualitatively and quantitatively to assess effectiveness and inform improvements.
  • A positive, collaborative attitude with the ability to bring joy and appropriate humor to the workplace while maintaining professionalism.
  • Adaptable and resourceful team player who contributes creatively to the success of the organization.
