Position Overview:
This role is integral to the operational efficiency of nursing departments within AHMC Healthcare. Collaborating closely with Directors and Unit Supervisors, the Staffing Coordinator ensures that nursing areas are adequately staffed in compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies. Additionally, this position plays a crucial role in the respectful and timely management of deceased patients.
Core Responsibilities:
As a Staffing Coordinator, your duties will include:
- Initiating and maintaining the daily nursing office activity log, ensuring updates are communicated effectively.
- Managing documentation related to licenses, certifications, and competencies for per diem, agency, and traveling staff.
- Processing various administrative paperwork, including vacation requests and schedule modifications.
- Documenting changes from staffing sheets accurately.
- Providing copies of previous day’s staffing sheets to Nursing Directors.
- Monitoring and managing decedent affairs, ensuring a contingency plan is in place.
- Entering acuity metrics into the designated software program.
- Compiling daily nursing variance reports.
- Handling a high volume of incoming calls professionally.
- Coordinating patient transport and maintaining an accurate transport log.
- Updating the daily registry report and ensuring all registry files are current.
- Performing additional tasks as assigned.
Decedent Affairs Responsibilities:
In this capacity, you will also:
- Maintain accurate records in the morgue log.
- Assist in the timely placement of decedents.
- Facilitate the necessary processes for decedents being placed in the appropriate facilities, including death certificate and burial permit documentation.
- Support the completion of required forms for coroner cases in collaboration with supervisory staff.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: Previous experience in clerical or unit secretary roles is preferred.
Skills: Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Proficiency in typing and computer usage is preferred. Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) are advantageous.
Licenses/Certifications: No specific licenses or certifications are required for this position.
