UNC Health is looking for a dedicated Cardiovascular Ultrasound Specialist to join our team in providing exceptional care to patients with cardiovascular conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Exhibit proficiency in pre- and post-procedure patient management, including thorough assessments and emergency cardiac interventions (CPR certification required).
2. Ensure daily calibration and maintenance of ultrasound equipment, documenting all maintenance activities and quality assurance checks. Identify and report any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
3. Capture high-quality ultrasound images of cardiac and vascular structures, performing advanced studies for patients with complex medical conditions.
4. Conduct vascular assessments and provide real-time readings in surgical settings for both invasive and non-invasive procedures.
5. Perform diagnostic studies for neonatal, NICU, and pediatric patients.
6. Participate in staff training and serve as a resource for fellow Cardiovascular Sonographers.
7. Maintain accurate patient records and manage report storage systems, ensuring data entry for billing and report generation.
8. Prepare the procedure room and equipment for daily operations, ensuring efficient transitions between procedures.
9. Responsively address on-call requirements for urgent procedures.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology, or a related field, or completion of a twelve-month ultrasound program within three months of hire.
Licensure/Certification:
Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible with the requirement to obtain registration within one year of employment. Continuous education and maintenance of registry status are mandatory.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience in an acute hospital environment is required.
