Facility Cleaning Specialist

Rogers Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Housekeeper for our Oconomowoc Campus. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across all facility buildings, with a strong emphasis on infection control, which constitutes approximately 80% of the responsibilities.
Work Schedule:
Day shift hours with a monthly weekend rotation.
Professional Standards:
- Adhere to the dress code established by Environmental Services and the Hospital.
- Uphold a professional appearance at all times.
- Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained.
- Follow directives from the Environmental Services Manager or Director.
- Comply with all Hospital policies and procedures, including Safety and Employee Health protocols.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with patients, staff, and visitors.
- Arrive on time and be prepared for assigned duties.
- Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment when handling chemicals or operating machinery.
- Be available during scheduled on-call periods as per policy.
Collaborative Responsibilities:
- Assist staff in managing agitated patients when necessary.
- Support patient room searches upon request.
- Participate in the training and orientation of new staff under the guidance of the Environmental Services Manager or Director.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary performance improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough cleaning and sanitation of designated areas, including but not limited to bathrooms, offices, day rooms, group rooms, and patient/resident areas.
- Cleaning tasks encompass all surfaces, such as floors, sills, shelves, blinds, desks, beds, windows, sinks, and showers.
- Perform deep cleaning of patient/resident rooms post-discharge, including changing bed linens and towels.
- Sort and transport clean linens to storage areas throughout the facility, ensuring these areas remain organized and stocked.
- Manage the transport of dirty linens to designated laundry pick-up areas.
- Collect and dispose of recyclable materials appropriately.
- Gather and dispose of trash, transporting it to the designated disposal area.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma is strongly preferred; GED is also acceptable.
- Advanced vocational or technical education is highly regarded.
- Previous experience in a cleaning role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with specialized cleaning equipment is strongly preferred.
- Ongoing education in relevant specialty areas is required.
- Experience in the mental health sector is advantageous.
