Job Summary

Grand River Navigation Company is a leading marine transportation service provider operating on the Great Lakes. We are seeking a highly skilled Able Seaman to join our team aboard our US-flagged self-unloading vessels.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with loading and unloading of cargo in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform duties in port, including line handling and maintenance tasks
  • Stand part of a Navigation Watch while underway, ensuring the safe operation of the vessel
  • Follow instructions from the 1st Mate and contribute to a positive and productive team environment

Qualifications

  • Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with Able Seaman Endorsement issued by the USCG
  • Transportation Worker Identification (TWIC) issued by TSA
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
